Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain so yellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a young and a callow fellow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow ( follow ) follow ( follow ) follow . . .
Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow
Try to remember when life was so tender
That dreams were kept beside your pillow
Try to remember when life was so tender
That love was an ember about to billow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow ( follow ) follow ( follow ) follow . . .
Deep in December it's nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow
Deep in December it's nice to remember
Without a hurt, the heart is hollow
Deep in December it's nice to remember
The fire of September that made you mellow
Deep in December our hearts should remember
Then follow ( follow ) follow ( follow ) follow . . .
Harry Belafonte - Try to remember (The Fantasticks) 1966
People who devoted themselves into this disaster should be respected. It would be better than pointing, arguing the government's faults in front of the screen.
It is fine to find reasons but not now. Do the right thing in right timing. Give help.
Have just watched the "一百萬人的故事", the idea is good...but I am just sick with Mr. Chan...
Just like "向世界出發", it is not the first time TVB appeals to emotion by telling a true story with some fabulous guests in order to generate conflicts that draw the audiences' attention. The conflict this time was the socioeconomic status which have a large different between the fabulous guests and the true story-tellers. Another conflict would be the fancy image of the celebrities and the fact of the poverty. It will be successfully to draw the attention and raise the awareness
among the audiences but would it be helpful to meet the need of the
poverty? I doubt.
I think the tone may go wrong since some of the questions that the celebrities interviewed with the story-tellers was focus on the problem that only the rich may concern. Such as, "Don't you afraid of your children will get 'dystrophy' (didn't abosrb enough nutrition)?" What is the meaning of dystrophy to them? I didn't mean that they don't know the literature meaning of dystrophy but the actual meaning. The problems they are facing are the income they earn cannot support their living, the work time too long, and lack of government/social support but not how bad if they get dystrophy. Asking this kind of questions will not let the audiences know what the poverty needs, just like asking the blind that "Don't you afraid of the SUV-B hurt your eyes?" So, what is the purpose of this program and TVB?
This program can be multi-purposes. 1) Raise the public awareness of poverty issues 2) Promote business ethics 3) Increase the company image 3) Enlarge the market share 4) Provide different choices for the audience 5) Knock out ATV
However, all of above purposes cannot give help to the poor directly even the first one. TVB may put this issues into one of their volunteer team concern. Set up a foundation for them. Connect them to the TVB hospital network (Tung Wah, every year have a fund raising progams on TVB, may help) so that improve their health situation. Communicate with the sponsor like P&G that those companies can provide them some necessities. More, and more direct help that TVB can have. If TVB just solely produce and broadcast this program....I will be disappointed.
It still a high-quality program that I am looking forward to the next episode. This would be better than producing some programs about the luxurious life that celebrities have, the most expensive house in the town, or some programs that only consist of bad jokes and laughters.
